Story Of Aladdin
For the most part, we know what the plot of the live-action Aladdin will be, as it will, more or less, follow the plot of the animated original. “Street Rat” Aladdin gets chosen by Jafar to enter the Cave of Wonders to retrieve a magic lamp, but instead, Aladdin takes the lamp and uses it to become a prince in an attempt to woo Princess Jasmine. The Princess, on the other hand, is dealing with a parade of princely suitors, none of which she’s much interested in because she wants to marry for love, not political reasons. Shenanigans ensue. Of course, how closely Disney’s remakes actually stay to the previous version has varied across films. While Beauty and the Beast was an incredibly faithful remake, Cinderella added a great deal of new material. The Jungle Book contained some of the animated versions’ original music while Beauty and the Beast was a full musical. The success of Beauty and the Beast might lead Disney toward a more faithful remake, yet we just can’t see Guy Ritchie making an entirely traditional Disney movie. At least one of the acting choices that the new movie has made would indicate that the movie is planning to do some things differently.

#4. Men in Black: International
Story Of Men In Black : International
The trailer taps into our nostalgia for the series, particularly Barry Sonnenfeld’s first movie, in a unique way. While we get a few bars of Danny Elfman’s familiar score, the trailer doesn’t use Will Smith’s iconic rap song, or even make mention of Agents J or K, though we do see a portrait of them fighting Edgar the Bug on the HQ walls. Instead of revisiting familiar beats, the trailer taps into the feeling we got when we were introduced to this world the first time. We’ve got new characters, Agent H (Chris Hemsworth) and Agent M (Tessa Thompson), new weapons and vehicles, and new aliens. The trailer suggests a reboot, while Emma Thompson’s presence as Agent O and the insect-like, coffee-loving aliens assures us that we’re in the same the same world as the first three films. As a result, the trailer makes a statement that this pic is both a throwback to what audiences loved about the original and an expansion that will cover new ground.

#5. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Story of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Tarantino has repeatedly stated that the movie is not about Charles Manson, but one of his victims, Sharon Tate, seems to be a main character in the story. “Those who’ve read it said the script has heart and a strong commercial appeal, and if there is a film of Tarantino’s it can be best compared to, it would be Pulp Fiction, which also was set in Los Angeles. The film will carry a budget in the range of Django Unchained.” (Deadline). According to Variety, the plot involves a male TV actor and his stunt double sidekick looking for a way into the movie biz after one hit series. The murder of Sharon Tate and her friends by the hands of Charles Manson’s murderous family is the backdrop to the main story. According to Tarantino via Sony, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is “a story that takes place in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood. The two lead characters are Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), former star of a western TV series, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt). Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor…Sharon Tate.”
